New VAT law in LKenya

On 02 September 2013, a new value-added tax (VAT) Act was introduced by the Kenyan Revenue Authority whereby previously exempted goods are now subject to a 16% VAT charge, including game drives. At the present time conservancy/park fees for the Masai Mara National Reserve and other parks in Kenya, have not been increased, however, this may change and we will advise accordingly. The new VAT charge will impact our rates where we charge for exclusive use of vehicle or for use of our own vehicle on safari, as well as our Nairobi transfer services.

To minimise the impact this will have on guests travelling to Kenya, Soin Africa Safaris commits itself to hold the current rate. All provisional bookings will have until 28 October 2013 to confirm and pay the applicable deposit. Thereafter, all bookings that confirm will be quoted at the new rate. Soin Africa Safaris has therefore amended all transfer rates and all transport rates accordingly.
You will be contacted by our reservations staff for any affected bookings. If you have any queries in the meantime, please contact us on info@soinafricasafaris.com
