12 DAYS-UGANDA GORILLA TREKKING AND WILDLIFE SAFARIS
Early in the morning after breakfast, meet at the headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing. The briefing begins at 7 am and the real activity at 8 am. With armed rangers join in the search for the habituated mountain gorillas. The length of the search will depend on the movement of the Gorillas. Upon finding them you are allowed one hour of taking pictures and interacting with them. After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the land of mountain gorillas and drive to Queen Elizabeth via Ishasha area. As you pass through Ishasha look out for the tree climbing lions in the fig trees. Check in to your lodge and head out for an evening game drive. Expect to see elephants, lions, and buffalos. Depart early in the morning after breakfast to Ishasha sector exceptionally known for the tree climbing lions. Spot them as they hang on the huge branches of the fig trees during your game drives. Have lunch and enjoy afternoon boat cruise to view other wildlife to see are the big herds of buffalos, Elephants, Antelopes, and numerous hippos. Dinner and overnight at: Mweya safari lodge
After breakfast set out of the lodge and go Kyambura gorge to view chimps and give you an opportunities to observe many water birds including greater and lesser flamingoes and the great egret. Drive out of your lodge out of the lodge immediately after breakfast and enjoy the nature walk, Nature treks are one of the more active ways to explore the landscapes and wildlife of Queen Elizabeth. Check out of your lodge after breakfast and drive to Kibale national park. Check-in for lunch and after go for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary; which is a birder's haven with about 138 species and eight species of primates. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at primate lodge.
After breakfast, you will exit Kibale for Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda and owns 76 species of mammals, 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill, and the Goliath heron among others. After an early breakfast; tour the Northern section of Murchison with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, hippos, giraffes, Uganda kobs and lions, the leopards (if you are lucky) plus a variety of bird species.
After lunch, go for a two-hour launch trip to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls from where appalling water escapes through the narrow gorge forming a great thunderous uproar. Dinner and overnight at GeoLodges Nile Safari Lodge
Drive from Murchison Falls National Park early in the morning and head to Kampala. Drive by the Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to enjoy a trek of these magnificent endangered Rhinos. A well trained guide will take you on an hour walk as you see firsthand how the Rhinos spend their day.
